Real Wedding: Sue & Giovanni

We have a lot of catching up to do on our blog, so I’m taking us back to April for Sue & Giovanni’s wedding.

First, let me say these two are one of the nicest couples we’ve ever worked with.  I truly felt like part of the family.

Now, the day of the weather was not cooperating, but we still had a lot of fun and got great pictures.

We started at Sue’s house getting ready with her bridesmaids and adorable girls.  Makeup by Sandra Baldini and Hair by Jen the Hair Genie.  These ladies did an amazing job on the bridal party.  And most importantly kept the girls’ running on time.  Next, we were off in the limo provided by Camelot.  As always they were on time and professional.  We witnessed a beautiful ceremony at St. Leo’s in Corona, NY.  Now, unfortunately the weather was starting to get nasty so we couldn’t go to our planned photo location, instead we headed over to Flushing Meadows for some quick stops.  However, the best part was the bridal party got a little hungry so we needed a food break at McDonald’s.  Finally, we made our way to the beautiful reception at Douglaston Manor.  This was my first time there and I sure hope to get back soon.  Everyone was incredibly nice and really went out of their way to make everything run smoothly.

Wedding Gown Trends

For a lot of brides, the most exciting part of planning a wedding is the dress.  From an early age a girl dreams about what she will walk down the aisle in.  From a detailed ballgown or simple sleek dress, the options are endless.  Each year designers are reinventing what a bridal gown can look like.  Years ago, women would gasped at the sight of an ivory dress and now brides are going towards a blush pink instead of a traditional white gown.  There is no such thing as tradition anymore.  The one piece of advice I always give my brides is; “This is your special day, do what makes you happy.”  Here are some hot and chic new trends with wedding gowns:

Priscilla of Boston – Fiona

I love the cut of the top of the dress and the tulle bottom

Pnina Tornai – Style 4085

Haute Couture…look at the detail!

Ines Di Santo – Cherise

This dress is a very delicate blush pink, I love the detailed sweetheart neckline!

Vera Wang – Genevieve

Of course we need a little Vera, I’m in love with the softness of this dress!
